Individual drives replace central drive

In the past, central drives that provide the mechanical energy for the entire unit were primarily used in machine construction. Today, individual drives are increasingly being used. These offer significant advantages: greater flexibility, high dynamics and therefore increased productivity. The KRONES Group from Neutraubling, Germany, relies on WITTENSTEIN's HIGH TORQUE gearboxes for the production of PET bottles.

CONTIFORM 3 FOR PERFECT PET FORMING

CONTIFORM 3 FOR PERFECT PET FORMING

The Contiform 3 is a stretch blow moulder, in which PET preforms are blown into bottles. For this purpose, the previously manufactured preforms first pass through a linear oven, which heats them to a processing temperature of around 90°C to 120°C.

DREAM TEAM FOR THE DRIVE TASK

DREAM TEAM FOR THE DRIVE TASK

The infeed and outfeed starwheels run in constant operation at constant speed. They are equipped with servo drives in the turret. Strongly alternating torques occur in the system owing to tension springs in the gripper arms at the transfer starwheels, which move via rollers in a curved trajectory. The tension springs prevent ramp changes of the rollers.

The TP+ HIGH TORQUE gearboxes from WITTENSTEIN provide the right momentum in both the right and left turrets.

The Contiform 3 in operation

The infeed starwheel with WITTENSTEIN drive supplies the PET preforms to the blowing wheel at a rate of 22.5 bottles/second.
